The Institute of Mathematics of the Federal University of Alagoas - Brazil invites applications for a post-doc position of up to 18 months as soon as possible. The deadline for applications is March 31th, 2012. This fellowship is part of the PNPD by the scientific agency CAPES-Brazil.

Successful candidates must have obtained a Ph.D. in an area of the mathematical sciences no sooner than February, 2007, must not have held a permanent position at any university and must show a strong commitment to research. Federal University of Alagoas is located in Maceio in the State of Alagoas, Brazil and is the largest university of Alagoas.

Areas of interest within the faculty include PDEs, Real and Complex Dynamical Systems, Algebraic and Differential Geometry. We value serious commitment to research.

Federal University of Alagoas will offer the sucessful applicant a competitive monthly take-home salary of R$3.300,00 (approximately €1.466,00 at February 18, 2012 exchange rate) and an annual associated grant for travel and research support of R$12.000,00 (approximately €5.333,00).
